Analyses of sequential symptoms after hysterectomy



Abstract
Hysterectomy is very commom operation in these days . It is second widely used operation in gynaecological patients. The sequential symptoms after hysterectomy was investigated many studies.
But, in our country, the study was rarely performed, so we perfomed analyses of sequential symptoms after hysterectomy.
The informations taken from 37 patients who visited the clinic of gynaecology in Dongseo hospital of oriental medicine in 2 months (2000.9.18-2000.11.18) were used.
In this study, the mean age perfoming hysterectomy was 43.4. The symptom, uterine bleeding was a major cause to perfom hysterectomy, and uterine myoma was revealed as a major cause.
Complaints before hysterctomy was disappeared at 20 patients(54.1%). 17 patients complained new symptoms right afer hysterctomy(untill 1 month), and the depression, fatigue were major complaints.
In the period(1 month - 1 year), 22 patients(59.4%) complained new developed symptoms, and the muscle pain(27.2%), hot flush(12.5%), palpitation (8.3%), fatigue(8.3%) were major complaints.
In the period( 1 year - 5 year), 28 patients(75.6%) complained new developed symptoms, the muscle pain(32.4%), hot flush(18.9%), hands or feet numbness(18.9%), palpitation(10.8%) were major complaints.
This results showed that 31 patients(83.7%) complained new developed symptoms, and muscle pain, hands or feet numbness, hot flush, palpitation, fatigue was revealed as major complaints.
This study suggested that carefulness is demanded to perform the hysterectomy, and positive managements to treat the symptoms after hysterectomy was demanded.
